Peritoneal mesothelioma begins in the abdominal cavity. “Peritoneal” means it has to do with the peritoneum, which is a membrane that surrounds the abdominal area. A cancerous attack of these membrane areas are mesotheliomas.
Peritoneal mesothelioma can be fatal malignant mesotheliomas which spread uncontrollably. Peritoneal mesothelioma almost always includes abdominal pain. This is because there is excess fluid between the peritoneal membrane and the abdomen walls. In peritoneal mesothelioma, the abdomen can appear larger. Tumor masses may be visible, but external tumor visibility only occurs in a minority of peritoneal mesothelioma cases. Nausea is a common mesothelioma symptom with peritoneal mesothelioma, and the abdominal area will also be very tender.
In a healthy peritoneal area between the membrane and the wall, the peritoneal fluid helps the intestines move food. In peritoneal mesothelioma however, excess fluid causes bowel obstruction. The mesothelioma symptoms of extra fluid and bowel obstruction both contribute to abdominal pain. The bowel obstruction can also produce mesothelioma symptoms of constipation and diarrhea. Many peritoneal malignant mesothelioma patients have reported mesothelioma symptoms of a burning sensation in the abdomen. Mesothelioma symptoms for peritoneal malignant mesothelioma may not surface for 20-30 years after asbestos exposure.
Peritoneal mesothelioma is fortunately rare, however its rarity sometimes makes it harder to diagnose. The symptoms are similar to hernias and gall bladder problems, and identifying peritoneal mesothelioma in a CT scan is difficult. The medical industry is aware that asbestos-related diseases will be escalating over the upcoming years, and treatment for peritoneal malignant mesothelioma is undergoing many clinical trials. Lawsuits like that take years to even get to court. The companies have big time lawyers, much more than the average person can afford. I see commercials on tv all the time about a class action lawsuit against the manufacturer, so that hasn't even come to fruition yet. Like I said, years.
I suspect radioactivity to be as an agent that could be concentrating on some very tiny fibers. Did Steeve McQueen as John Wayne went turning films in deserts where Nuclear tests had been done ? I think that as many test that have been done on asbestos should be made on radioactivity that could have concentrated on fibers, on cigarette fibers. I recall a Los Alamos Doctor that made studies on cigarette growing and radioactive phosphates taken for faster growing of tobacco. Asbestos I dont know.
It's a rare cancer caused by working with asbestos. Companies didn't provide information/protective gear to employees working around this stuff, and were placed in danger without their knowledge.

The primary risk factor for developing mesothelioma is asbestos exposure. I believe I saw a statistic, and you know what they say about statistics, that said 80% of mesothelioma diagnoses are related to asbestos exposure. This does sound about right. Peritoneal Mesotheliomas are not plaques as they are in the lungs, but are tumour like nodules within the peritoneal space (a part of the stomach) They can vary in size, and also in colour such as – white, red, yellow-tan, pink, or grey.

The ONLY treatment I've ever seen work (and work often!) is the Immuno Augmentive Therapy (IAT) Clinic in Freeport Grand Bahamas. They are run by British and Bahamian medical doctors, and are in my opinion by far the best alternative cancer treatment center in the world.

It would cause an avenue tor the cancer to spread to other areas of the body. This is a highly lethal disease. Less than 10% survive 5 years.
To the best of my knowledge, Asbestos is not dangerous unless it is disturbed. So, you don’t have to worry about it. Remove asbestos safely with the help of a person who is licensed to handle asbestos.
Even though this deadly substance has been banned, asbestos is still being used in a variety of products in the US. This is unfortunate..and thanks for these great info
